Why Vostego exists

Job searching is broken. Most platforms bury you in noise: recycled listings, algorithmic feeds, and generic advice that sounds good but doesn't help you land anything.

We built Vostego because we've been through it. The founder spent years navigating career transitions, leading teams at major media organizations, and mentoring others through their own moves. The pattern was always the same: the people who landed well had access to better information, better feedback, and better systems.

Vostego makes those advantages available to everyone. Not through AI-generated fluff or motivational content, but through the same practical tools and direct guidance that actually work.

Who's behind it

Ian Sherr

Ian has spent 15+ years shaping editorial vision and leading teams at CNET, Reuters, and other major organizations. He's a regular contributor to CBS News, BBC, and CNN, and has advised senior leaders on strategy, operations, and public positioning.

When he moved into consulting and solo work, he realized the same problem his mentees faced: trustworthy, actionable career guidance is surprisingly hard to find. So he built the platform he wished he'd had.
